Thrive

Thrive is the second phase of our Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for Parents program, designed to support parents in their journey toward their families mental health wellness, enhance parent-child relationships, and foster greater balance within the home. This segment is particularly beneficial for parents of children exhibiting early signs of emotional and behavioral challenges, while also serving as a subsequent step for others already engaged in the program.

Thrive encourages parents to take a step back and focus on their child's emotional needs, and understand how they can influence behavior when their child is struggling. This proactive approach aims to reduce the escalation of their child’s challenges and guide the family toward wellness. What is the Thrive?

Thrive, part two of the program, focuses on four components to help build and support wise-minded parenting. Thrive part of the program will focus on these areas:

Parent Wisemind:

The heart of moving in an effective direction with your family is learning how to parent from a value-centered, regulated place as a parent. You will learn the necessary skills needed to move your family towards improved wellness and to feel more effective as a parent.

Transforming the Transactions:

When a child is struggling, this influences the parent's own emotions and responses. These responses back and forth between the child and parent can be hard to manage and overcome. We will help you look at these interactions to find better ways to improve and respond that attend to your child’s and your own emotions in a more validating way.

Influencing Behaviors:

Helping parents know how to influence behavior in a more effective way using behavioral principles. We will work with you to find better ways of responding to situations and problems using behavioral principles and the connection with your child.

Rebuilding Relationships:

Aimed at growing the connection with your child and family. We work with parents to build a deeper connection, to be a cheerleader instead of the problem solver in your child’s life, helping them reach their own goals.

Creating Balance:

Working with your child and family to create an overall sense of well-being and harmony in the home. This is the time when parents often begin to build a strong sense of self and a life outside of their child’s mental health, focusing on their own well-being.

Thrive the second part of the program is a 8 month long commitment with monthly 2 hour DBT for Parents skill group and weekly parent coaching sessions with a therapist until less frequency of sessions are determined by the team. During the program we will work with you individually to apply what you are learning in group into real life application in your home. We do this by supporting you with of a parent coach to help guide you along the way in the program. In Thrive will take the time to help attend to your emotional, and mental health needs as a parent. We can only be supportive to others when we feel strong and have support for ourselves. For parents who need more support for themself or family we require the full program starting at Calming the Storm. We also offer individual therapy, and couples services for parents who need additional services.

Big Step, Real Impact.

Let us take some of the pressure off you and your family. We offer support to parents who need it the most.
