At The Be Center, our clinicians bring warmth and expertise to their practice. They are deeply skilled in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and have extensive training in the application of DBT for families. As leaders in the field, our clinician’s expertise extends to trauma therapies, including DBT-PTSD and DBT-PE, ensuring comprehensive, compassionate, and effective care. With experience across diverse treatment settings and all levels of care, including outpatient, partial hospital, residential, and inpatient settings, our clinicians have a deep understanding of the many struggles families go through and can adeptly guide families through the complexities of the mental health system. Many of our clinicians have held or currently hold appointments at prestigious institutions like McLean Hospital and Harvard Medical School, contributing to cutting-edge research and clinical practice.

Luciana Payne, PhD
Clinical Program Director

Luciana Payne, PhD is a Clinical Psychologist specializing in working with parents, couples and families. Dr. Payne has completed her graduate degree at the University of Nevada Reno and her post-doctoral training at McLean Hospital, both under the mentorship of Dr. Alan Fruzzetti. Currently an instructor at Harvard Medical School's Department of Psychiatry, she contributes to research projects developing new interventions for families affected by emotion dysregulation. Dr. Payne has worked with hundreds of families and professionals to improve the care parents receive in adolescent and young adult treatment programs. She has co-authored several publications on the adaptation of DBT for couples and families and conducts training both nationally and internationally. In 2020 she co-founded The Be Center with the aim of providing support to parents and families. Her extensive expertise in research, clinical innovation, and parent-focused intervention has made her a leading voice in helping families thrive in the face of emotional difficulties.

Daniel Crump, LICSW

Daniel is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with a robust background in DBT and family support. He completed both his undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Nevada, Reno, and began his professional journey in addiction counseling in 2006. His passion for DBT led him to specialize in residential treatment, where he played a pivotal role in establishing one of the first DBT programs for adolescents. Daniel received intensive DBT training under the mentorship of Dr. Alan Fruzzetti, and his dedication to the field took him to New Zealand to help restructure the country's only DBT residential program. He later spent 5 years working for Mclean Hospital in the Outpatient DBT family program and Trauma program. He remains connected to Mclean Hospital. In 2020, Daniel co-founded The Be Center with a mission to support parents and families navigating mental health challenges. His comprehensive experience and commitment to empowering families make him a trusted resource in the field.

Rebecca LaPrade, PsyD
Therapist
Rebecca is a clinical psychologist with extensive training in evidence-based treatments, specializing in anxiety disorders and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). In addition to her proficiency in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for parents and families, she is also skilled in SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions). She earned her Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology, focusing on Marriage and Family Therapy, from Pepperdine University, and subsequently obtained her PhD in Clinical Psychology from Palo Alto University.
Rebecca completed her post-doctoral training at McLean Hospital and Harvard Medical School under the mentorship of Dr. Alan Fruzzetti. Her dedication to delivering compassionate and effective care empowers her to assist families in navigating complex mental health challenges with both empathy and clinical precision.

Amanda Parlee, PsyD
Therapist
Amanda is a Clinical Psychologist specializing in assisting families of adolescents who experience severe emotional dysregulation. Her expertise lies in dialectical behavior therapy. She earned her graduate degree from La Salle University in Philadelphia, where her research examined the interplay between impulsivity, emotion regulation, and disordered eating.
Amanda completed her pre-doctoral internship at Aspire Health Alliance in Braintree, Massachusetts, and further enhanced her skills through a post-doctoral fellowship at McLean Hospital and Harvard Medical School within the 3East Outpatient and Partial Hospitalization Programs, where she currently serves as a staff psychologist.
Her compassionate approach, combined with specialized training, equips her to offer effective support and guidance to families seeking comprehensive care. Amanda has significant experience working with parents of children facing these challenges.

Victoria Sheppard, Ph.D
Therapist
Victoria (she/her) is a licensed psychologist with a specialization in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). She earned her master’s degree from Teachers College, Columbia University, followed by a Ph.D. in School Psychology from the University of Massachusetts Boston. Victoria completed both her pre-doctoral and post-doctoral training at Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health before joining the 3East Outpatient DBT Program at McLean Hospital.
In addition, she has served as a faculty member at the University of Massachusetts Boston and Boston College. With over a decade of experience, Victoria has worked extensively with children, adolescents, and their families across various settings, including public and private schools, outpatient clinics, and residential programs. She is deeply committed to the transformative power of accessible, high-quality mental health care and is passionate about helping young people and their families navigate emotional challenges with resilience and compassion.

Jenna Renqvist Ph.D
Therapist
Jenna Renqvist, Ph.D., PMH-C, is a Clinical Psychologist specializing in assisting individuals and couples in breaking unproductive patterns by transforming their perceptions and responses to emotional experiences. She earned her doctoral degree from the University of Nevada, Reno, and completed her pre-doctoral internship and post-doctoral fellowship at the Veterans Affairs (VA) Pittsburgh Healthcare System.
Following her licensure, Dr. Renqvist dedicated over nine years to working with military veterans and their families in VA hospitals located in Pittsburgh, PA, and Columbus, OH. She possesses extensive experience in implementing Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and other evidence-based treatments to help clients overcome anxiety, depression, and trauma while fostering the repair of relationships with partners, family members, and friends. Additionally, Dr. Renqvist is certified in perinatal mental health.
Dr. Renqvist is committed to providing validating, nonjudgmental, evidence-based care that empowers parents and couples to transition from merely surviving to genuinely enjoying life.

Sara Bonilla, PhD

Sara is a licensed psychologist with over a decade of experience specializing in Dialectical Behavior Therapy. She has provided care to children, adolescents, young adults, and families in various settings, including acute care, residential, and intensive outpatient programs. Sara earned her master’s degree from Lesley University and her doctoral degree from the University of Massachusetts Boston. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the Terry Children’s Center in Wilmington, Delaware, before returning to Massachusetts for a post-doctoral fellowship at McLean Southeast, focusing on adolescent ART and PHP programs. Currently, she serves as a staff psychologist in the McLean 3East Adolescent Outpatient DBT program and is an instructor in the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. Additionally, she holds a position as an adjunct faculty member in the mental health counseling graduate program at the University of Massachusetts Boston. Sara is committed to providing evidence-based, compassionate, and holistic therapeutic care, with particular expertise in supporting parents of children facing emotional regulation challenges.
